On Wednesday, April 6, the annual career education program "Shadow Day" took place. This year six young people from three schools - Riga State Gymnasium No. 3, Mārupe Secondary School and Carnikava Primary School - showed interest in the daily work of the specialists of the Patent Office.
During the day, the young people got acquainted with the day-to-day responsibilities of a project manager-consultant and trade mark and patent experts, as well as visited the Industrial Property Board of Appeal, where they had the opportunity to learn about most interesting disputes.
Among the shadows were the students who were actively involved and participates in student learning companies. They acknowledged that the experience gained would be of practical use when thinking to protect their creative products and services.
Some shadows’ thoughts about the event:
"I really enjoyed the opportunity to get to know the work of the Patent Office from different angles and to be able to visit its both locations".
"Creating a successful trademark requires a lot of attention because it is the trademark that will attract customers and buyers".
Many thanks to the colleagues of the Patent Office for their responsiveness and for sharing their experiences, as well as to the schoolchildren for their active involvement and the time spent together!
