As of today, March 17, 2021, the book “A JOURNEY TO EXCELLENCE. Latvian Inventors in the World” is easily available in electronic version to anyone interested on the Patent Office's website www.lrpv.gov.lv. The book was released at the end of last year, in honour of the centenary of the establishment of the Latvian system of industrial property protection.
The book brings together the achievements of 25 world-renowned scientists of Latvian origin. The publication covers a part of the performance of Latvian inventors in such fields as aviation and aeronavigation, astronautics, food and clothing, computer science, medicine, biotechnology, outer space research, automotive, chemistry and physics - from the unique pipe design to the legendary Minox miniature spy camera.
The Latvian President Egils Levits and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Jānis Bordāns were the first to receive the book. The Patent Office also gifted the book “A JOURNEY TO EXCELLENCE. Latvian Inventors in the World” to 45 of Latvia's largest libraries.
