On Saturday, 4 March, the Patent Office took part in "OTHER BAZAAR in Spring", an annual event of student enterprises (SMU) organised by Junior Achievement Latvia (JA Latvia), which gathered 270 SMUs from all over Latvia to offer their products and services.
At the event, young entrepreneurs’ performance was evaluated by an experienced team of professionals, businessmen and academics, including the director of the Patent Office Agris Batalauskis. The Patent Office awarded the best primary and secondary school SMUs in the nomination "Knowledge-based product / service":
In the primary school group – SMU “Labziepis” from Ulbroka secondary school for handmade soaps and body scrubs that do not contain artificial and harmful chemical substances (SLS);
In the secondary school group – SMU “Pyrolat” from Riga French Lycée for a domestic hazardous waste treatment technology.

Throughout the day, SMUs as well as anyone interested could visit the Patent Office’s stand and get advice on industrial property protection.
