On 27 September, in the frame of The European Network of Authenticities project of the European Union Intellectual Property Office, a discussion organized by the Latvian Patent Office (LPO) took place at Daugavpils Municipal Police.  Its purpose was to recognize the importance of intellectual property protection and fight against counterfeiting. The representatives of the Municipal Police of Daugavpils, the State Police of Latvia, the National Customs Board and the Prosecution Office of the Republic of Latvia discussed the achievements and possible improvements in their institutions’ operational processes.

This event was the last one among the activities planned by the LPO in Daugavpils for 2024.

Daugavpils is the 13th city that has been involved in the activities of the European Authenticities project. Two cities from Latvia have joined the Network of Authenticities, i.e. Liepāja and Daugavpils, and, currently,  they are the only ones from the Baltic region.

The European Network of Authenticities project is financially supported by the European Union Intellectual Property Office. The LPO, Daugavpils City Municipality and Daugavpils University cooperate in its implementation within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding.
